Ann, If you try opening the file straight into Excel you should get a text import wizard that will allow you to do this. You'll have to change the Show What combo in the Open dialogue to "all files" so that you get the log file in the listview first. When I did this I found the first three rows and row 5 were redundant so I deleted them. Row 4 (now row 1) contained the headings to the columns but the first cell wasn't needed so I deleted that and shifted cells left to line up the row headings correctly. This file tracks what is going on within my desktop. I would like to have each column go into a separate column in another application such as word or excel so I can sort, summarize and follow data on a specific column. This report has date, time, action, protocol, SRC-IP, SRC-Port, DST-Port. Each column is separated by a space. Does anyone know how I can use Jaws to import this text file so that each column on text report can go into a separate column in Excel? I think this term is called delimiting. Presently, when I copy the entire report to clipboard and paste into Excel all columns go into first column.
