Ed. BookShare is a different organization. RFB has books in audio format recorded by individuals. BookShare has books in DAISY as well as BRF formats. Daisy (Digital Accessible Information System) books are files that work with screen readers, daisy players, as well as scan-and-read software such as Kurzweil and OpenBook. BRF books (Braille Refreshable Format)-are books in digital braille that can be read with refreshable braille devices and braille embossers. BookShare has an annual membership fee. For U.S. students the membership is free. For both organizations you would need to provide proof of disability.
The main website for BookShare is as follows: www.bookshare.org To read more about how BookShare works you can go to the following link: http://www.bookshare.org/_/aboutUs/howBookshareWorks All the best. Ecaterina----- Original Message ----- From: "Marquette, Ed" <Ed.Marquette@xxxxxxxxxxxxx>
