First, I use a free one called Power Grab (or maybe Power grabber, it's
on my system at home) to do the binary downloading.  This is after
trying a long list including free agent.

Secondly, I too have comcast, and found that it's very easy to get
started and go over your download quota; then, unless you pay extra,
you're cut off from the gigganews server for 2 months!!!

Don't download too much at first; if you decide it is working well for
you, and you want to download a lot, consider the account from AT&T
worldnet that gives you *unlimited* access to their email, web, and news
servers for $7 a month (but no dialup access).  You get to their news
servers via your comcast connection.  Their news servers only allow an
SSL connection this way, so you'll need a news reader/downloader that
supports SSL, or, you'll need an SSL add-on that's free called Stunnel
(which Power Grab needs).
