The only similarity is the use of an HP machine. I am confused, how can you hit a control alt I combination by accident? If you just hit alt I and Jaws says control alt I then we have the same problem. For example, alt f4 combination will say control alt f4. Alt s will put a control key with it as well. When in Word, hitting the letter "P" has put me into print mode. Of course control p is the short cut key for doing just that. I never had this problem until I started using a HP machine about 2 years ago. This has been going on since Vista. I've noticed that, if I hit control a couple of times before hitting a key combination when in the problematic situation. it allows the next key combination normally, almost like a pass-through key. Anyway, I have found out what does it on my machine. It only seems to happen when I'm in word and hit alt+control+the letter i when I meant to hit alt+i. The only way to get out of it seems to be to reboot the computer. I'm running JFW 7 on an XP machine with MS Word 2003. Any similarities by any chance? Freedom Scientific was wondering if HP has something to do with it. Windoweyes, and NVDA do not have this problem on my machine. When I installed Jaws on my wife's HP machine, she runs Window eyes, the problem began. She never had this problem for over a month until then. As far as Freedom Scientific is concerned, it is only me who is having this problem. If anyone else is, I would greatly like to know!
