Overwrite. Not overlay. I am doing this update the same way. Ad-Aware SE needs this Depts file to reflect the latest data. There is no need to delete the file, it't simpler to just overlay it. Roger ----- Original Message ----- From: Brian Tipka To: JFW Free List Sent: Sunday, April 06, 2008 5:59 AM Subject: Ad-Aware definition up dates Hi Friends, There were a few posts in the recent past on how to manually up date Ad-Aware SE. I followed the instructions and things went very well until when I was extracting the new definition files I was told that there was already a folder called," defs", do you want to replace it with the new folder with the same name. I selected, yes and continued on. When I went to run Ad-Aware I was not greeted with, your definitions are "so many days old, would you like to check for up dates". My question is, are the up date files supplied by Lavasoft for Ad-Aware SE all of the files checked for by the program or just the most recent? In other words, did I do the right thing selecting to replace the "defs" folder? Your advice would be greatly appreciated.
