(Announcement: This is the message area, below, just in case the mysterious
message goblin fails to put its mark here)
John,

Speaking for myself, I've been using AVG Free DEdition for years, in several
successive versions, never been infected with a virus over that time, have had
AVG catch and quarntine a few so that they never harmed anything, and otherwise
it's just worked quietly and automatically for me. Accessibility isn't any
issue at all, so that's a moot point here. As for other features like a
firewall, I use a hardware router that serves me very well as a protective
shield in many ways, and again, have no issues with that. And for keeping up
with spyware security, I run and update regularly Spyware Blaster to head off
many spyware infestations, and regularly update and run AdAware to detect and
delete most that get through. A very common setup among a lot of people. Both
the last programs are free, also.

I personally prefer Norton, but that's just me. My husband uses AVG and
likes it. I have Norton Internet Security because I want the firewall and I
like the accessibility. I'm willing to pay for something I've been using for
years and have never had a problem with, so at least in my own humble
opinion, if you have something, it works for you and you like it, stick with
it. I use Norton and like it, while my husband uses AVG and likes it, so
there's nothing wrong with either, I suppose. It's your own preference. Take
care.

Hey Listers I am somewhat new to the List! How good is AVG? And if it is
Good and Free who Pays for keeping it up to date on the latest Buggs and
Viruses not to mention worms, Popups, those Popups Used to drive me Crazy
untill I got A Popup Killer then I Renewed my Norton with Norton Internet
Security and it has all of the above programmed into it and I just set it to
Scan once A day and it watches 24:7 for Popups and Worms, Viruses ETC
But free Sounds Good if it does all of the Above and It is Kept up to date.
Thanks
John
