I want to ask a question to the experts scripts for jaws. guys you can create scripts to jaws interact with the games visually challenged? such as: call of duty, point blank, medal of honor, and more. the question is if you can create scripting menus to read this kind of games first persone shooter. only to read the menus of the games to be able to play the game without needing someone to help us. or this is just a dream? someone say it's possible but I do not believe. please tell me something. sorry my bad inglish. cheers. -----Mensagem Original----- From: Doug Lee Sent: Tuesday, January 22, 2013 1:46 PM To: jawsscripts@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [jawsscripts] Re: surpassing the limitations of built-in SendMessage It shouldn't be a problem to pass a window handle to a COM method, as those are just integers, not strings or structures. This approach seems pretty complex for the little task I want to do, and I found an alternative solution. In this script I'm also using a com component of an open source software. I'm gonna add the SendMessage handling to that software which is written in Python. I'm confident python could handle this, but I haven't found any relevant examples. Still searching, as Python is not one of my specialties. I guess I can pass a window handle to a com component, right? -----Original Message----- From: Doug Lee Sent: Sunday, January 20, 2013 2:13 PM To: jawsscripts@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [jawsscripts] Re: surpassing the limitations of built-in SendMessage Years ago, we at what is now SSB BART Group (but what was then Bartimaeus Group) proved that a DLL can be written to make this sort of thing possible. The DLL was never released nor used in any project of which I am aware, but I remember it included COM-callable functions for allocating and freeing blocks of memory and allowed string passing via those memory blocks. Structures are trickier because you can't include a null byte in a JAWS script string value, but I don't remember whether we addressed that one at the time. I also doubt we addressed any 32-bit versus 64-bit OS issues. I know of no current implemented solution, but maybe this is enough information to point you in the right direction for making one. For one of my projects, I???m required to pass a structure of type POINTL to a program. Has anyone found a convenient solution to this? Maybe a com component or something.
