If possible, it would be great if you could share eclipse install
information as I was recently trying to install the software but it
didn't work for me.
I use Jaws V16 on Windows8.1.

Not only that, but at least in my case JAWS also used to speak repeatedly
the selected text, which is annoying, plus that the same piece of text for
which was changed the highlighting options in JAWS is still not read
correctly as highlighted.
So not in other situation when the editor may use a different color scheme.
I tried it under Windows 7. I don't know if it is the same under Windows
10.
Until better news, the conclusion is that all Scintilla-based editors,
including Notepad++, are not accessible for JAWS.
There is TextPad editor which is accessible and it is great, but it is not
free.

The problem with using custom highlight colors is that the editor uses
different colors for different types of text.
Comment code is green, other types of coding like keywords etc. is
blue, and other text is black.
So when you select different text types the highlighted colors will be
different.
There is a style configurator under settings, but I don't know enough
about using it to know if it will help.

Have you done that? I tried it some time ago, but it didn't work.
So for this single reason I consider Notepad++ an inaccessible editor
for
JAWS, as all other editors that use Scintilla editor widget.
It is accessible for NVDA though.

Select some text, move the JAWS cursor to it, and then choose Custom
Highlight Assign from the JAWSKey+F2 menu.
The basics were ok. But the auto-complete feature in Notepad++ does
