Microsoft Word
Tony,
Freedom squeez= ed all old Office related scripts into one in JAWS 17.
These scripts are the so called Classic scripts in Office. Also I =
realized problems with this because I use Word 2007. T= he solution was to
copy the old scripts from JAWS = 15 to my user folder of the new JAWS
version and r= ecompile it. As far as I remember I should edit the script
in some points to let them compiled.
=
The main problem with these so called = Classic script is that it does not
take in account= that Office changed from version to version a lot and in
many times you can't get the best result with one unified script.
As I sense= it, JAWS is getting poorer and poorer=C2=A0 from version to
version. It seems that Freedom does not have enough people to = properly
develop, test and document the scripts.
Cheers,
Csaba

Hi all,
I'm using Word 2010 with Windows 7 an= d JAWS 2020. This is an upgrade
from JAWS 14, = which, as we know, is quite a leap.
My job uses templates tha= t contain edit-type form fields as markers to
= tell us where to start transcribing dictation. In JAWS 14, this only
read like an ordinary field, instead of acting like = its own edit
control. The problem I have in 20= 20 is that these typing fields pretty
much fre= eze jaws to the point of rendering it useless when I focus on
these fields either with an arrow key or with F11 or = shift+F11.
Sometimes Word crashes as well.=
I was hoping for some thoughts on possible ways to get the old b= ehavior
back with scripting. I've poured over = the Word scripts and the
apparently newly avai= lable Word object function script source file to no
avail on how or whether it's even possible to proceed. Because this i= s
Word 2010, JAWS 2020 switches to the WordCla= ssic script set and uses the
WordClassic and O= fficeClassic object function scripts. If anyone would
shed some light on this issue, I'd be much obliged, as for the time=
being I have to switch back to JAWS 14 to do = my job.
