There may not be a single answer to your query, sometimes a firewall package
can cause these types of problems. See if you can take down the error code on
the web page when you hit the problems with Windows Update, you can then search
through the list of errors and thereby get a fix on what may be causing the
problem.

Hi all,
have just tried to do a windows update but during the update I kept getting
several error messages including one which said that I had to restart my
machine and so I did but when I relaunched outlook, I felt that I wasn't
getting any mail through.
I did send myself several test messages which came through after about ten
minutes.
I am using windows me and JAWS version 5 so can someone please tell me what
I am meant to do if I have to finish off this windows update.
