As a rule with laptops you can only use the operating system it was originally supplied with which in that particular case sounds like Windows XP. It is unusual for a laptop to have full driver support for two operating systems unless that was the option at the time and generally if it didn't have a VISTA option at the time then is not generally safe to assume you can get any VISTA on it. Do some research and see if it may take VISTA, there are still copies of non-retail boxed XP Home floating around if you look as well. Regards. I recently bought a Windows XP laptop from a company called EuroPC which sells refurbed dell PCs. It was a good deal but I have JAWS standard. This means I can't use the laptop without either upgrading JAWS or using a free screenreader such as Non Visual Desktop or perhaps even buying a program such as System Access which may do as much as I need. I want to use JAWS though really and wondered if there is any chance that I would be able to upgrade to Vista but get Vista Home Premium instead of Vista Business? This would work out cheaper as there would be both a JAWS for Windows upgrade cost and increased SMA costs afterwards for no real benefit to myself. I wonder if anyone knows whether I stand any chance of getting this upgrade to Vista Home Premium from Dell if I ask?
