This is a little off topic for this list, however I expect more than one
member of Jaws UK may be interested. I think you may want to first have a
look in the "view" menu under "current view" and make sure "show all
messages" is checked, if not navigate to it and press enter on it.

Secondly if you are having problems with downloading messages there ought to
be an error message, the incoming server is pop.gmail.com and the outgoing
server is smtp.gmail.com.

Lastly the thing that may be of most interest to screen reader users of this
service are that there are hotkeys, I reproduce them below.

As you will notice this will cause problems with Jaws own keyboard shortcuts
for the web. In order to resolve this issue you will need to press insert+V
to go into the verbosity menu and then toggle the navigation quick keys off.

What are the keyboard shortcuts?

Keyboard shortcuts save you time by letting you explore Gmail quickly -- you
never have to take your hands off the keyboard to use the mouse.
To turn these case-sensitive shortcuts on or off, click 'Settings,' and then
pick an option next to 'Keyboard shortcuts.'

      Shortcut Key Definition Action
c Compose Allows you to compose a new message. <Shift> + c allows you
to compose a message in a new window.
/ Search Puts your cursor in the search box.
k Move to newer conversation Opens or moves your cursor to a more
recent conversation. You can hit <Enter> to expand a conversation.
j Move to older conversation Opens or moves your cursor to the next
oldest conversation. You can hit <Enter> to expand a conversation.
n Next message Moves your cursor to the next message. You can hit
<Enter> to expand or collapse a message. (Only applicable in 'Conversation
View.')
p Previous message Moves your cursor to the previous message. You can
hit <Enter> to expand or collapse a message. (Only applicable in
'Conversation View.')
o or <Enter> Open Opens your conversation. Also expands or collapses a
message if you are in 'Conversation View.'
u Return to conversation list Refreshes your page and returns you to
the inbox, or list of conversations.
      y Archive*
Remove from current view Automatically removes the message or
conversation from your current view.
a.. From 'Inbox,' 'y' means Archive
b.. From 'Starred,' 'y' means Unstar
c.. From 'Spam,' 'y' means Unmark as spam and move to 'Inbox'
d.. From 'Trash,' 'y' means move to 'Inbox'
e.. From any label, 'y' means Remove the label
'y' has no effect if you're in 'Sent' or 'All Mail.'
x Select conversation Automatically checks and selects a conversation
so that you can archive, apply a label, or choose an action from the
drop-down menu to apply to that conversation.
s Star a message or conversation Adds or removes a star to a message
or conversation. Stars allow you to give a message or conversation a special
status.
! Report spam Marks a message as spam and removes it from your
conversation list.
r Reply Reply to the message sender. <Shift> + r allows you to reply
to a message in a new window. (Only applicable in 'Conversation View.')
a Reply all Reply to all message recipients. <Shift> +a allows you to
reply to all message recipients in a new window. (Only applicable in
'Conversation View.')

Subject: [jaws-uk] gmail and Outlook Express

Hi friends,
I've created a new gmail account and it works in outlook express in my win
xp pro with Jaws6.1.
But I have noticed some things that I would like to share with you, my
friends.
First, When I send email from my gmail account to my gmail account, (to
myself) I can't see my this email in outlook but can see it in the
gmail.Google.com
website.
Can someone explain why?
Second, when I sent a media file that is found under windows files in my c:
drive, I can't send this kind of file. I can send it from my another two
email
accounts but not with gmail.
Can someone has any reasonable explanation?
Third, gmail.google.com, is not accessible much and I think that we have to
ask their support for that problems.
We can read some messages but can't find the delete button and can't use
other links, etc.
I hope to hear from you soon.
Thanks
