[jaws-uk] changing the numbers of characters per line in a document file

I would appreciate any help if anyone could tell me how to change the number of
characters per line in a document file.
As for some unknown reason, in one of my files, some lines of text that should
only take up one or two lines of text, have converted, a one line to become
two, and a two row of text into three.
I would welcome any help to get things back to normal.
