Hi Amie.

You are asking a perfectly reasonable question I would say. it is one that
would be particularly relevant to anyone upgrading a laptop at the moment.

As you may know, Microsoft is about to launch a new operating system called
Windows 7. It is currently in the last stages of testing before release and
I would expect it to be out within the next couple of months.

Windows 7 is largely based on Windows Vista but Many people have tried it
and say it is a much faster and more stable option than Windows Vista.

what I would say is that if you really have to update right now, I would go
for Windows XP as it is more stable than Vista, it is faster than Vista and
it does as much as most people want.

On the other hand, initial comments from those testing the new Windows 7
have also been very positive on the whole. if you want the latest operating
system you can wait and get Windows 7. I would not go for Windows Vista at
the moment though.

Regards

Graham

Hello list

I'm upgrading to JAWS 10, on a Tosheba laptop with Office 2007. Which is
best to use in this config, Vista or XP, with latest service packs etc?
I've been using XP but am game for Vista if it'll work better.

As always, hoping my question doesn't lower the intellectual tone of the
list ;)

Tia
