Brian is correct in saying that Kurzweil 1000 blindness reading product
ony works under Windows and not the Macintosh platform. At the moment
the Macintosh platform is difficult for all but the most determined of
speech users due to its present stage of developmet of VoiceOver their
screen reader which is built in.

Dear Dorothy and list:

Kurzweil is written to operate under Windows. The Mac Powerbook
I believe can run a Windows emulator, but I'm not certain if it
will let absolutely all Windows programs run under it.

You may be able to run Kurzweil under the MS Windows environment
of a Mac Powerbook, but if this was important to you, be
absolutely certain to specify this as requirement as a condition
of purchase!

Hope this helps.
