The Qube has no effect on the Twitter site. I did all of this though; got the token and whathaveyou; must be missing something. Am I understanding right that qube doesn't actually appear to be open, like other apps do? I think this is what you've just told me. I think I do have qube properly ready to go; it hasn't made any difference to the twitter site operation, at least not that I can discern. I'm sure this must be now down to some obvious thing I've faialed to do...but what? :o) Thanks again; appreciate this level of question is frustrating for those of you with brains, but I'm an artist, and consequently hopeless lol; v grateful for your patience. So if you are looking for it's window it's not there. When you press keystrokes like, ctrl, winKey up/down/right/left arrows, your Screen Reader or the computers SAPI voice will start to read the buffers in the qube that contain your tweets. In saying this, you first need to set a Twitter profile up. With the Qube running, hit ctrl, WinKey N, for new. Select Twitter from the list, tab once and give it a name, eg Aimies Twitter. Hit return, another box pops up asking for the tokan from twitter. At the same time your web browser will load, and ask you to log-into twitter to grant access for the qube. Log-in on your web browser, say yes or allow, copy the code it gives you intot he qube edit box, you'll need to alt-tab back round to it, hit return and it should log you in. Now you can use the keystrokes mentioned above with the cursors, and the others in the manual. Hope this helps, Barry. -----Original Message----- From: jaws-uk-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:jaws-uk-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Amie Slavin Sent: 01 April 2012 16:13 To: jaws-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [jaws-uk] Re: Twitter again I have the qube, and I realise that moments like this make you wish to kick me, Ian, but I have it installed; told it to run; now can't find hide or hair of it... Well, I can find it,but can't make it do anything; can't tell it's there other than the icon I put on my desktop for it. Oh yes, I can read the read-me file too, but it tells me what keystrokes to use but not how to get to the place where those keystrokes actually do anything. I'd like to be using qube and finding out how much easier it makes things; am not at all resistant to it, honest. Now have password set correctly; mobile site does seem less cluttered, although still no simple rt button. I reckon the main site is more usable than the FaceBook main site though. Thanks again for all help; I'm slowly getting there with your assistance. I have just logged in to the mobile site and the main site while The Qube is running. I can only think that you are not typing identical user IDs and passwords. It's not recognising my username and password though. Figuring this means that I'd have to run two separate accounts in order to use both sites. This doesn't sound right though; hoping I'm just screwing up the log-in somehow. Surely lots of people use both versions, don't they? I'm especially unhappy about having to create a new account as there's a capture on the page with no apparent audio option :o( Any ideas anyone. Thanks for all help; much appreciated. Firstly, on the main site, the button to follow someone is inaccessible as far as I can tell. The word follow is there but it does not look like a button and pressing enter or space on it does not follow someone. One option is to try the mobile twitter site which is http://m.twitter.com which seems to do all I need it to do. There is also an accessible twitter website which is at http://www.easychirp.com You log into twitter and then you can use things like h to move between headings. Once you have authorised easychirp once you just need to click sign in and press enter on the authorise account button which you can get to with b (JAWS quick key stroke for next button). Then you have each tweet starting with a level 3 heading so you can press number 3 or shift 3 to move forwards or backwards between tweets. I won't get the smarties I know but parts of the twitter main site just seem to be inaccessible hence the alternatives. I have Qube installed but haven't actually got it working with Twitter yet; tips welcomed. I've been using the main site, straight, though, and discovered this morning that it sometimes gives accessible buttons to reply or retweet. Wondering, can anyone tell me why these buttons are sometimes there and accessible, but mostly not, and how can I command them to appear, when they don't? Can I summon them up in some way? Failing that, the first person to tell me how to use the basic retweet, reply and message functions, by any means at all, gets smarties. Yes, I've read the Qube help and noted the keystroke to retweet. Don't know how to get Qube active though; I installed and ran it, and there it sits, doing jack as far as I can tell. Likewise, the Twitter site suddenly presented me with a list of keystroke commands this morning but, when I hit T to retweet, as per the list (and no I have no idea how or why the list suddenly appeared) all I get is JAWS saying "No tables on this page". Bloomin' marvellous eh? Anyone help at all? Johny clearly knows all things; I'm sitting here, head in hands, watching him mastering twitter tech' like it's breathing. At least I know it's doable :o) Anyone unconfused me?
