Thanks, Norman
My apologies to whoever it was who doesn't like getting messages just saying
thanks. I take that point completely but when several people offer
different and useful help it just seems rude not to say thank you. I'm
trying to hold back but am very grateful for everyone's help so, sorry, but
I'm saying thank you, again, for these instructions.
Much appreciated.
Amie

Hi ~Amie,

Instructions for specifying a profile for a particular application:-

Let's say you want to specify the Realspeak Solo Direct profile for Outlook
Express.
1) Open Outlook Express;
2) Now press insert+J to go to JAWS;
3) alt+O for Options, then arrow down to Voices, then right-arrow or Enter
to open the submenu, then arrow down to Select a voice profile ...
4) You find yourself on a comboBox called "default profile", but you want to

tab to the next thing;
5) You are now on another ComboBox which should say something like "for
Outlook Express: comboBox Use defaultdefault, 1of 4". It is this that you
need to change with the Up/Down arrow keys. I have one called "RealSpeak
Solo Direct - (factory)".
6) Go to Ok and Enter.

The secret is that this second ComboBox reflects the last application used.
So don't close Outlook Express before going to JAWS.

hth,

Norman O.

You can make the voice application specific if you want, I do not have
any instructions written to do this yet.
