Hi

If I were you - and this is a personal opinion - I would always remove a
USB stick or external USB drive using the JAWS system tray and the
Safely Remove Icon facility.  Alternatively, shut down the PC and remove
it then.  I would never ever just pull out the device.  As I say, it's a
personal choice though.

Good morning,

You really don't need to "Safely" remove a USB Mass Storage Device
(memory stick or harddrive) as long as there are no transfers in
progress.  I never safely remove USB storage media.  Note: use this
method at your own risk. 
Just pull out the memory stick.
