Hello Dorothy, No it is not Web Mail and yes it is rather like Forte Agent and Outlook Express in that it deals with both Mail and News traffic. I cannot say whether Turnpike is as old or older than either Agent or Outlook Express, or whether it is more powerful, what I can say is that it is very powerful and versatile at what it does. Having said that I would not recommend it to a beginner as there are aspects of its behaviour that even now after eleven years of use still catch me out from time to time. I am currently getting used to using it in Vista and it is proving a real sod but I'll get there. In XP it worked well for me but that was only after extensive tinkering with the configuration settings so I'd stick with the devil you know if I were you! Forte normally means I think strong but as we are talking Computers Heaven only knows Dorothy ----- Original Message ----- From: "Clive Stevenson" <vi_lists@xxxxxxxxxxxx> To: <jaws-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Sunday, November 02, 2008 1:45 PM Subject: [jaws-uk] Re: Reading elapsed time I made a silly error.Hi, No, its been happening to me for some time now... I put it down to the vagaries of my mail and news client, Turnpike, but apparently I have been wrong. Cannot find any reason for this phenomenon but his address is not the only one that does this; I have several more from the various lists I take and all appear to be posting correctly so I cannot fathom out why this happens. I am using Outlook express and for some reason Colins stuff comes into Outlook Express inBox, am I the only person to get this? I can see only 1 of Colins on the Jaws list. I have GoldWave v5.25 which, I believe, is still the latest version, I have WindowsXP Home with latest updates, I have Jaws v9.0 with, so far as I know latest update and I have v.10.0 Public Beta2 ready to try. I also have, so far as I am aware, the latest scripts compiled and installed for GoldWAve, these were written for v5.22 but I was advised work equally well with v5.25 so no rewrite was felt to be necessary. I am using the program on a new Compak laptop and an older Evesham laptop and the behaviour is the same on both machines. Why, then, with all this, when I pause the file using the space bar, I then try and read elapsed time by shift with alt and e, do I get an elapsed time of 0.0 yet if I pause the file using the f7 key, I get a correct reading? In both cases, a second press of the appropriate key resumes the file as I would expect and issuing the alt shift e reads the correct time as the file continues to play. Is this a scripting, or goldwave issue? I am basically just intrigued, as though inconvenient, it does not really cause me undue problems. From Colin Howard near Southampton in Southern England.
