Sue

From your message I rather gathered that what you want is to upgrade from
Office 2002, as you mentioned Word, etc. I have JAWS 6, XP Home and Office
2003. I bought the Office software and installed it when I got my PC. I
can't remember where from, but it might have been Amazon. I don't think you
can get it free, but if you just want the basics as I did it won't cost you
an arm and a leg.

Hi Sue,

Don't get confused between upgrades and updates. As George said, go to
windows update, which should be in your tools menu when you're in internet
explorer, or it might even be in your start menu.

Have a read through the page and it should say to you something like check
to see if there are any updates for your computer. This means there may be
stuff for the system currently installed in your pc,. It will show you
things like SP2 and critical fixes that you can get all for free. Just
follow the prompts and you should be ok.

You might have to accept a licence agreement along the way, and look out for
updating to Internet Explorer 7, don't install that because your version of
Jaws can't cope with it. You need at least jfw 7.1 I think before you can go
use IE7.

Another thing you can do is go to start, settings, control panel, and select
system. In here work your way along to Windows update tab. There are 4
options you can choose from. Just personal preference, I have my home pc set
to the second option, download updates but let me install them. This means
that whenever there are any freebies for updating my system, they will
appear in the notification area system tray, prompting you to install them,
but it allows you to review what they are before you continue.

Hi.

I'm using Jaws 6 with Windows XP and Microsoft 2002. I'd like to upgrade to
the latest version of Microsoft and I'm wondering if anyone can tell me the
best way to do this. I've been onto the Microsoft website, and there are
links for the various applications such as Outlook, Word, Access etc, but
I'm wondering if there's an update for everything. I would also like to
know if the upgrade is free?

Thanks for any advice on this.

Sue.
