Hi Martin,

Thanks for this. I think I have done all this but I will check. I have even tried reinstalling Word. I am using Word 2003 I think.

Norman.

Hi Norman:

I'm sorry if this sounds simplistic, but have you exited word properly? Go into all word docs which are open and hit alt f then c, or x. If you hit c
you should just be left after shutting all down with a dialogue saying
Microsoft word, just go into that and press alt, f then x. Answer no to any prompts asking to preserve clipboard content for aother aps, unless you want
to preserve it of course. This content will be lost when you restart pc
anyway. If you hit x, and exit completely, you should not get the message
you speak of on shutdown. Incidentally, if you have forcibly shut down and the document recovery tool has recovered docs in it, watch out for that too.
This gives you the option to save or delete from memory all recovered docs
from the time the pc was forcibly shut down.

Hth.

Hope to hear from you soon.

From Martin.

Hi All,

When I go into shut down to put my computer off if I have been in a Word
document during the day it comes up with 'Document 2' 'Do you want to save
the changes'. I then have to hit the 'no' box to get the computer to shut
down properly. Any idea what is wrong here?

Norman.
