Robin,
You can normally adjust this verbiage in the Verbosity menu under the option
"Style changes".
If this doesn't work, try in the Tools Options settings within Word itself.
There's an option that is something like "Style area width" and I think it
is normally near the bottom of the "View" tab. If this is set with a value
greater than zero, Jaws tends to read out style information.
See how it goes.

Hi,
JFW9, Office 2003.
Could someone kindly tell me how to turn off jaws announcing normal
style this and header style that as I arrow or work through a word
document? Switching back to jfw 7.1 I don't get anything like as much
info spoken but I can't see where to configure this either in the Word
menus or jfw ones?
