Hi Keith, I don't think this is right. I have used external disks on this machine before and they work fine. However, what I have found is sometimes when starting JFW, I get a message to say it is not registered and have to restart it again. With all the mess this system has caused me - eg, not being able to go through my connection for some very obscure reason, and also despite me reinstalling on exactly the same hardware, the system says I have new hardware and I loose a key, I am seriously thinking of not renewing my SLA as it has now expired, and moving over to Window-eyes or Hal. I wonder if someone can please help with a query I have. A little while ago I bought an external hard drive for my PC. It connects via a U S B port. When I connected it, and logged on the computer, Jaws recognised that my hardware had changed, and insisted that I re-register. This I did, and all is now fine. I also installed the software to run this external hard drive on my wife's laptop computer, so that I can in effect connect the drive to her computer. However, if I disconnect the drive from my computer, and then boot up my computer, will Jaws again insist that I re-register, thinking that once again the hardware configuration has changed? I sincerely hope not, as this would be a great inconvenience. The hard drive, of its very nature, is a portable device, and there may be many times when I wish to use the computer with the drive not connected. Does anyone please know the situation over this matter? I would welcome some words of comfort. With many thanks.
