Hi Keith,A possible solution. Go to control panel/ taskbar and start menu. On the taskbar page tap around to get to (notification area hide inactive icons checkbox) and make sure it's unchecked.

High Jamie, Many thanks for your reply, which has certainly helped to clarify matters.I had assumed that my router was in the TaskBar section, but realise now itis in the System Tray part.Interestingly, the router status doesn't appear in the System Tray list withInsert+F11 after switching on the computer. I first have to get to the System Tray area at the bottom of the screen, and Jaws then reads out the various buttons, each of which is named, except the Belkin. So I at least know this is the one I want. After activating this, Belkin appears in the F+11 System Tray. So, if I may ask a supplementary question, please. Is there any way I can get the Belkin to appear in the F11 System Tray list at the start, without the rest of the procedure? Thank you. Best wishes, Keith -----Original Message----- From: jaws-uk-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:jaws-uk-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx]On Behalf Of Jamie Cuthbertson Sent: 23 November 2007 18:54 To: jaws-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [jaws-uk] Re: Jaws and the TaskBar Keith, My understanding (and it is entirely possible that I am wrong) is that the strip along the bottom of the screen is actually made up of a number of different parts, the Task Bar being only one of these. Normally you have: Start Button Tool Bar - (sometimes seems not to be announced by Jaws when tabbing) Task Bar System TrayThings like the router and clock are likely to be on the System Tray at the bottom right corner of the screen. The Task Bar normally has icons for theprogrammes that you have open at the time e.g. Microsoft /Word etc. To get to the System Tray you can also use the Insert+F11 keystroke if you need to check the items here. Hope this helps. I have my Belkin Router on the TaskBar, as well as the clock, but when I press either left or right arrows, nothing happens. Am I missing something, please?
