there is an office compatibility pack you can download from the microsoft
website that will allow you to read office 2007 files in earlier versions of
office. I think it will allow you to edit them as well. Not sure of the link
but a search on www.microsoft.com should find it.

Cheers

Graham

FOI is used to get information if the council is not forth coming in doing
so. I think you stand a better chance for an accessable format of information
meeting your needs under disability discrimination act Disability equality duty.

Hi that sounds a good idea anyway but now tell me if you were a County
Council under Freedom of Information Act providing information suitable for all
VIPs,wouldn't using RTF rich Text Format be available to almost all? Isn't it
the most basic of all,I know we are advised to use plain text with Jaws and not
Html, but I am not sure of the reason, but Rtf I know works well, just out of
curiosity if I am allowed to ask how would a Linux user read information
Thanks Dorothy

Brian, better still, download the Office 2007 compatibility pack from the
Microsoft sites. Sorry I don't have a direct link for downloading it.

        Dear Dorothy and list:

Just send the material back to where it came from and ask them to send
it back to you as Word 2003 documents. I believe Word 2007 has an option to
save documents as Word 2003 files.

You shouldn't have to buy a new version of Word just to read documents
sent to you. However unless you asked for Word 2003 documents, it is
understandable that they'd use the default document type for their version of
Word.
