good advice Marie it is almost the only way I can get feedback on Kaspersky
which Jaws can't speak to, I wonder if your Belark gives your IP number by
the way mine does, having Belark on both a laptop and Desktop but only 1
server Zen, would both computers have different Ip numbers? Perhaps I should
have made this a new topic I thought the Ip number identifies an individual
computer, my Desktop has shared Files with laptop so for example Jaws list
will arrive on
both

See if Belarc adviser gives you a clue, it's pretty good at listing
hardware and software present on your PC and tells you where the hardware
is connected.
Hope this helps.

Subject: [jaws-uk] Installing a Powerbraille 40

Hi List,

In the process of setting up my new computer: JAWS 9 (and some), XP Pro,
and tried installing the above with no success. It is plugged into the
mains, has a USB serial converter cable on and is plugged into one of the
USB ports. Whatever I set it to, Com1-8, I can't get it to work. How
can I:
1. find out which USB port is which from 1-8; I have tried looking for
the Device manager with no success. Where to look?
2. make sure that the computer is seeing the Powerbraille at all;
3. Check the connections.

Tried setting it to LPT1 as an option and JAWS underwent a mini revolt
along with the rest of the system; had to get sighted help to put the
powerbraille back to a com port before it would clear an internet error
report it wanted to send.

Structured responses welcomed as I frankly don't know whether I am coming
or going with it at the moment.

Cheers,

Terry Brady
