See if Belarc adviser gives you a clue, it's pretty good at listing hardware and software present on your PC and tells you where the hardware is connected.
Hope this helps. Marie----- Original Message ----- From: "Terry Brady" <labrador.vanda@xxxxxxxxxxxxx>

Hi List,In the process of setting up my new computer: JAWS 9 (and some), XP Pro, and tried installing the above with no success. It is plugged into the mains, has a USB serial converter cable on and is plugged into one of the USB ports. Whatever I set it to, Com1-8, I can't get it to work. How can I: 1. find out which USB port is which from 1-8; I have tried looking for the Device manager with no success. Where to look?2. make sure that the computer is seeing the Powerbraille at all; 3. Check the connections.Tried setting it to LPT1 as an option and JAWS underwent a mini revolt along with the rest of the system; had to get sighted help to put the powerbraille back to a com port before it would clear an internet error report it wanted to send.Structured responses welcomed as I frankly don't know whether I am coming or going with it at the moment.Cheers, Terry Brady ** To leave the list, click on the immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:jaws-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=unsubscribe] ** If this link doesn't work then send a message to: ** jaws-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx ** and in the Subject line type ** unsubscribe ** For other list commands such as vacation mode, click on the ** immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:jaws-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=faq]** or send a message, to ** jaws-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with the Subject:- faq__________ NOD32 3244 (20080705) Information __________ This message was checked by NOD32 antivirus system. http://www.eset.com
