I've never used it but this tool seems to be popular among screen reader
users.
Another application is Goldwave, I think from goldwave.com. There're Jaws
scripts available for this one. Goldwave is an audio editing program and it can
records from the internet too.
I reckon Total Recorder is what you need really...
