Hello There are two points here I'd like to make which would of some help. The first is that since there is no way currently saving an authorisation back to anywhere to be retrieved again, therefore the only situations in which you should use the "remove authorisation" feature in Jaws is: a) If you are going to be passing/selling/or no longer use Jaws on a machine which has had Jaws on it already and you therefore want to protect your Jaws serial number being used by anyone else. b) If you are directed specifically to do so by technical support from Freedom Scientific or ourselves for some reason. c) You have a brand new Jaws with different serial umber that you wish to wish to authorise on the machine which presently has in installed ILM Jaws on it. Secondly as regards maintenance or system alteration, it is a good idea if you know you are going to change or upgrade a component on your system then it is an idea to have a look at how many authorisation keys you have access to, because when a component changes currently this will re-trigger the activation process. If you know this is going to happen beforehand then one can arrange either with us ideally or FS if out of UK office hours to put at least one activation ready for you to collect after whatever has been carried out. You can check the activation status of your Jaws provided you have the serial number for you Jaws hand and can enter it into this site. Go to: https://secure.freedomscientific.com/RNBO/Home/Installs_View2.asp and enter your serial number in and press the "submit" button, and it will show you details of your license including "Activations remaining", there is an activation reset form at: http://www.freedomscientific.com/_vti_Activate/Activation_Reset_Form.asp If you have a Quella Jaws 5.0 then for the moment this is a viable backup option if all else fails on the ILM activation front until such time as the ILM count can be reset for you etc. Hope that is useful.
