The cursor blink rate parameter used to be more relevant on older systems a few years ago where it would be necessary to alter this. Jaws has to watch the cursor blink at least once, if not twice for it to reliably detect and distinguish it from say some other veritcal line that may appear in the off screen model. This is why those with sight will occasionally point out that it is blinking very much faster than normal. The fast it blinks the quicker the screen reader can detect the cursor and give reliable read out. Thus if the cursor never blniked at all it is likely that document reading would be very difficult. MS Word draws it's own cursor rather than the standard Windows one, which for a time caused some difficulties, and for some still does. Regards. What does the 'cursor blink rate' in JAWS actually do? What would happen if the PC cursor never 'blinked'? And on braille displays? ** To leave the list, click on the immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:jaws-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=unsubscribe] ** If this link doesn't work then send a message to: ** jaws-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx ** and in the Subject line type ** unsubscribe ** For other list commands such as vacation mode, click on the ** immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:jaws-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=faq] ** or send a message, to ** jaws-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with the Subject:- faq ** To leave the list, click on the immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:jaws-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=unsubscribe] ** If this link doesn't work then send a message to: ** jaws-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx ** and in the Subject line type ** unsubscribe ** For other list commands such as vacation mode, click on the ** immediately-following link:- ** [mailto:jaws-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx?subject=faq] ** or send a message, to ** jaws-uk-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with the Subject:- faq
