I'm really sorry but after weeks of trying, my computer specialist couldn't
get the audigy working. It had exactly the problem you described in your
email, so I really don't know what your next move is.

There is however another pointer as to how fruitless your attempts are
probably going to be, as prior to trying the audigy I had a extigy USB card
from creative which worked perfectly on my win 98 setup but exhibited the
problem when I converted to win xp. however, that was an obsolete model and
because I needed a USB card like yourself, I thought the audigy would work.
but it didn't - even with the latest drivers, which incidentally were really
difficult to obtain, I believe my specialist got them from another website
via google.

As I say however, the new soundblaster live 24-bit USB card works
faultlessly.

P.S. it has nothing to do with the ports being 1.1 or 2.0. as I guarantee
that my ports are all 2.0 and I had EXACTLY the same problem you describe.

regards

Hmmmm Steve, this doesn't sound good, not good at all! Unfortunately, the
patch from Audry didn't work and I haven't been able to get the drivers off
the creative site. For some very strange reason, it just won't download. I
need to use a USB card really as I have an onboard card which is rubbish but
it don't support the midi side of things properly and I use Sonar. I'd also
like to use it on a laptop as well. Surely there must be some work around
for this. Trying to contact Creative is a joke as well.

I guess this is caused because of some sourround feature or something. I
wonder if I can uninstal the card and just install the latest driver or
something?

Anyone else any ideas? Tris? George?

Steve

Hi Steve

You won't want to hear this, but I also had this problem with the creative
audigy USB soundcard, and tried for weeks to cure it with the latest drivers
and the patch you have just received, but all attempts to cure the effect
were useless and I eventually had to scrap the card.

However, there is some good news though in that the PCI audigy card doesn't
suffer from this effect, but if you want to use USB, then the new
Soundblaster live 24 bit soundcard works perfectly with the drivers that
come with windows XP.

Sorry to be the bearer of such bad news.

Hi All,
Hopeing someone may be able to shed some light on this.

I've just bought a new Creative USB Audigy 2 NX external soundcard and am
encountering the following problem.

I'm not sure if this happened from the onset of installaytion or not but
basically, I'm getting audio coming through but Jaws has a strange decayed
echo. Not so much over and over but just the last few words spoken is
repeated once and in a broken voice.

Any audio in the main sounds ok but if you listen closely, it is broken
slightly as well.

I wondered if I should try to reinstall the software? I've looked through
some of the settings but can not find what may cause this issue.

Any thoughts?

Steve
