Robin,

You could try the "table to text" option

To use this, do the following:

1. Move onto the table you want to convert.
2. Go to the "Table" drop down menu and select the "Convert" option.
3. From the sub menu, select "Table to Text".
4. If you tab around this dialogue, you will see that you can choose to convert the table inserting things like paragraph markers or tabs to separate the text entries in the table.

If you choose paragraphs it will put each cell contents onto a new line. If you choose tabs as the separator, the text from one line in the table should end up on one line unless there was a lot of text.

Give it a try and feel free to send me a copy of your file if you get nowhere.

My home email address is:

Cheers,

Jamie

Subject: [jaws-uk] Completing an rtf formatted questionnaire

Hi all,

My human resources have sent us all a stress awareness and management
document produced in .rtf format. All the usual stuff you'd expect, with
five standard options for each answer etc.

I've saved it over to .doc, and .txt format, but I still don't seem to
be sure of the navigation, and where to insert answers, as it's littered
with tables etc for each question.

I don't have very much cause to use word here in my job, so I wondered
if anyone could suggest a better way to convert the document so it may
read better with jaws, and I can confidently type in my answers to the
right spot?

I could happily mail the file as an attachment offlist to one of you
gurus if that would help you see what I'm trying to achieve?

Gee whizz, how stressful is this! *smile*

Kind regards,

Robin Clayden, Switchboard.
