George, thank god you've said that. Could I add that adding a person's name is more of an issue. If the message is meant for just that person, then make the effort to add them to your address book for find their email address and reply off list. If it will be of interest to others then it is relevant for the list and the subject line should not be changed unless the subject under discussion is changed. I know I'm not the owner here, but those guidelines work across all email lists. If said person insisted on doing it on any of my lists, they would be warned and if it persisted removed. Thanks Dave From: George Bell Sent: Friday, January 04, 2008 10:25 PM To: jaws-uk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [jaws-uk] Changing Subject Lines There are some list members who insist on changing subject lines, albeit by just adding a name. This causes problems for people who sort their messages by Subject since those replies end up being grouped separately If you wish to reply to a message, please simply Reply and leave the Subject line alone. If you wish to start a new topic, at the very least change the Subject line completely. However, it is better to start a completely new message to mailto:jaws-uk.freelists.org which will in turn create what is known as a new Thread.
