This may be an impossible question. If so I shall understand. Can anyone
explain the most common cause of a File becoming damaged? For example my
laptop had to have material copied over to it. Files called DBX I think. My
Ocr had trouble something called a "RunTime Library Dialogue. In effect it
meant I could try to Scan and it would get so far, then be stuck.
Eventually we surmised that a Configuration File had been damaged stopping
the Recognition Engine from working. All this took time as it was almost
impossible to be sure. Late in the day I had the sense to ask after a Lister
suggested it is there a Repair Wizard. It seems yes for my Version there
was. Had we known that before it would have been a great help. Now I often
hear you mention Repair Wizard. So, first what causes a file to be damaged?
Secondly this Repair Wizard how does it actually repair. I am sorry if
this sounds a bit messy. It may help a dumbbell like to understand just
what is happening . Thanks a lot. Dorothy Ps if it is an impossible
question I shall understand. PPS re Microsoft and contacting them this is
another issue I tried to phone them in Berkshire a few times Got lots of
Jolly Irish Jigs and realised they had routed me to a Southern Ireland
call centre!
