Hi all
Another thing to remember about Acrobat/Adobe Reader that is overlooked in
all the hype about having access to PDF files is that only text-based files
can be accessed.
To the uninitiated this might not seem to be a problem but in point of fact
it can be quite serious from a screen reader point of view. My wife and I
have come across some files that look as if they are text-based but in fact
they are graphics files that have been scanned and placed into the PDF file
as a serious of pictures. No screen reader will be able to read these.
Does anyone know if any of the OCR programs can convert scanned PDF files
into text.
