When you are prompted for your name, is there another name below yours that you are given the option of logging on with? Windows has, in the past, added a virtual user to the log in. If it's there, just delete it. Now, to delete it, I am guessing you could just hit delete. If this doesn't work, press the right applications key and see if delete is in there. Make sure you only delete this new virtual user. After that, you should be back to normal. On logging on, I am being prompted for a password. I don't actually have to type in a password, but simply press enter. I am the only user of this computer, so there is no problem here. This password business came about only recently following, I think, a Windows update. I would rather not be prompted for a password, so I am asking if there is a way to remove this prompt. Any help would be appreciated. Best wishes, Keith No virus found in this outgoing message. Checked by AVG Free Edition.
