This is really a question for the Imail forum, but since I am here and you
will be told to look at the archives and read the KB there (including by me)
since this type of question has been asked many many times before, here is
some information:

1. Imail, as well as all mail servers, allow users to authenticate. This is
called SMTP Authentication. In Imail, it is on always no matter what DB you
use and no matter what relay settings you use.

2. The strongest relay option in Imail is NO RELAY! What you said the "relay
for users" is strong relay option is one of the biggest misconceptions Imail
admins have that are new to Imail or have not taken the time to read the
manual and follow the Imail Forum. Yes, all I have to do is say it is from
you and I can send thousands of messages per hour through your server.

3. If Imail is a member server of a W2K AD domain, you can use the External
DB option, as AD is a LDAP DB and therefore does not need to be on a DC.
That requirement is only for WinNT.

4. As far as ISA is concerned, you just publish a mail server.

Any further questions or information needed can be obtained on the Imail
Forum.
