Jim there are several error messages in the event viewer on the isa box 2 particular ones that I think apply to problem Windows cannot query for the list of Group Policy objects. Check the event log for possible messages previously logged by the policy engine that describes the reason for this. It seems that when I try to add users or groups with the mmc for 04 its having trouble contacting my DC. The only way I can login is to authenticate on the isa machine itself ie. ( server-name\user and then I can login. The isa 2004 server is a member of the domain.
