pptp vpn connections with isa 2004 errror 691

Having trouble logging on to my vpn connection, error message 691 user
name invald on the domain. It seems that when I try to add users or groups
with the mmc for 04 its having trouble contacting my DC. The only way I
can login is to authenticate on the isa machine itself ie. (
server-name\user and then I can login. The isa 2004 server is a member of
the domain.
