Hi Edward, I was unable to log on to the machine again using the linux bootdisk (Thanks)So I entered the FAQ on that page and it said that Active Directory was a different story only worked on W2K Standalone or Member and W2K Pro. No problem I was just using the tool in a test machine. But the only question left is, Why the tool reset the password if it was only checking the system, not modifying it, I never told it to save any changes? ANY IDEAS? Has anyone used it in a W2K environment successfully? THANKS. -----Original Message----- From: Edward Sullivan [mailto:esullivan@xxxxxxx] Sent: Monday, March 31, 2003 5:51 PM To: [ISAserver.org Discussion List] Subject: [isalist] RE: [isalist] ¡¡ Problem using SYSTEM SCANNER !! http://www.ISAserver.org Did this actually help? The answer is a Linux bootdisk. The process is documented here and here: http://www.securityhorizon.com/whitepapers/archives/ntdisk.html http://home.eunet.no/~pnordahl/ntpasswd/ Ed Sullivan IT Director esullivan@xxxxxxx <mailto:esullivan@xxxxxxx> KMA Direct Communications Confidential and Proprietary -----Original Message----- From: redex [mailto:soporte@xxxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Thursday, March 27, 2003 12:59 PM To: [ISAserver.org Discussion List] Subject: [isalist] ¡¡ Problem using SYSTEM SCANNER !! http://www.ISAserver.org Hi Everyone. Has anyone had this problem? I have a W2KServer/AD/ISA Machine and installed W2K Resource kit. I was trying SYSTEM SCANNER which is under Security tools, so I run it, scan the system, ran Departmental Server test, checked the results, close the tool with the Close and Exit option, Rebooted the machine ¡¡ AND NOW I AM UNABLE TO LOG ON TO THE MACHINE, THE TOOL TOOK AWAY THE PASSWORD !! (I ran these tests when logged on as the Administrator). Administrator is the only user on that machine. Is there a default password that SYSTEM SCANNER inserts when doing tests, What is it? Does this tool work on Windows 2000 or Only on NT4.0? How do I recover the password, How do I crack it?
