You assume that just because you can buy a cert from someone that they 
automatically appear in the trusted root store of any device.
This just ain't so for WM devices; memory constraints dictate cutting lots of 
things short; especially if you get one of the "lesser-know" cert houses.

But I think that was the whole point of buying commercial cert instead of 
personal ones so don't have to go through this

With WM-5 you can use activesync 4.1 to copy it to the PPC and execute the file 
which will install it to the root store.

Greetings,

 

Couple days ago we got a plam device and I was trying to get active sync work. 
Long story short, I bought a certificate from geotrust and palm worked like a 
charm. Now the problem is windows device are complaining about cert with error 
code I mentioned. Has anyone else faced this? Isn't geotrust supposed to be in 
trusted list already on device? Appreciated
