VPN Timeouts

OK gurus - I've searched high and low and cannot find any answers on this
issue. It is most likely something I've missed/screwed up so here goes.
On two separate ISA installations when I try to go in via VPN it connects
and sits at "Verifying User Name and Password", then times out saying the
computer is not responding.
I followed the instructions on isaserver.org to the letter. Does anyone have
any ideas ?
