Good luck with that - *many* folks are having *huge* issues getting PPTP to
work through many VOIP "routers" <gak>.
As with a lot of the consumer devices, they're not all they're cracked up to be.

Yes the client's VIOP routers are setup to allow the pass thru.

Have you enabled all the needed pass thru's on your router/dsl modem?

Hi Mark,

The client is Windows XP Home dial-up networking VPN connection.

I am using "ISA Server 2004 Configuration Guide: Configuring the ISA 2004
Server Firewall as a VPN Server" as test the test material.

Regards,

Andrew

Is the server setup for encryption that is compatible with the client or any
encryption at all? what is the client? what is the VPN end point? is the client
setup for encryption? The windows client is set by default to end the
connection if it cannot negotiate an encryption method. sounds like what may be
happening.

        Importance: High

I am doing trial runs before implementing VPN.

I have followed Tom's enable notes, I have browsed through google and
figured out how to add the DHCP Relay. I can VPN to the box, it will ask me for
my password if I put the incorrect password in it tells me the password is
incorrect, if I put the correct password in it gives me TCP error 768 and tries
to redial.

The domain I am trying this on was originally setup as a .local network
if it has any barring on the issue at hand?

        Regards,

        Andrew
