Hmm.. sure all the ports are open ? It does sound like some sort of control
channel isn't making the connection it likes to and fails over after some
time.. perhaps some of the ports need to be bi-directional ?

Hello Paul,

No, I really don't want to leave ISA behind! "Open Port" button or not! I
can call an IP address and it connects. I can see and hear them and they can
see and hear me except there is a screen saying "trying to connect". After
about 10 or 15 minutes the screen will say "connected" and go away on my
end, but it never goes away on the other end. Also, no one can call into to
me, I have to do the calling and in some cases this will be unacceptable.
Thank you for any help you can give, this has been driving us crazy for a
while now and I was already crazy to begin with! :-)

What exactly is going wrong ? You said you can't get it to work correctly,
so maybe it'd be a better idea to just get it working (using the combined
wisdom of this list.. well.. at least some people on it.. well, anyone but
me, really..) than to replace your ISA with a hardware firewall. You
shouldn't leave ISA behind, it makes those big brown puppy-eyes when it
feels lonely, it's just too endearing..

H.323 indeed is not something that often sparks customer interest in my
experience, but that does not mean it can't be realised. :o)

Regards,

Paul

PS: You don't have the Open Port(tm) button ? You must feel such an
emptiness at times.. I don't know what I'd do without it!

Hello All,

After following the advice on this list and researching everything I could
find about the Gatekeeper service I have been unable to make it work
correctly so, I know it is not a popular subject, but does anyone have any
suggestions as to the best hardware firewall I could get to replace ISA
Server? I really don't want to leave ISA Server behind, but the Tandberg
Video Conferencing MUST work!

Thank you for your help,

Barbara
