You could redirect the ad request to a 1x1 pixel transparent .gif file
the you dont get the ad and no error message.

The only thing I'd be wary of when setting up destinations to block ad sites
is that end users would probably start complaining that certain images are
not showing up in their pages.  And for all those fun spy cam ads that come
up in a different page they will get blocked errors.  You could ease that by
creating a very detailed custom error page.  In my situation the level of
insanity I would reach after this started isn't worth the effort :)
