It might not be practical in your case, but we worked around this
dilemma by forcing real-time virus scanning at the client level.
Whenever a program is downloaded from the web browser it is immediately
scanned before opening.

Not the best answer for everyone, but we have a lot more control over
the clients than most people.

Subject: [isalist] SSL connection file scanning

http://www.ISAserver.org

Hi all !

We have several clients here using the ISA 2000 server as gateway for
the internet and some of them use Web mail.

Now as we want to have our network as secure as possible, we want to
scan attachements they download from their webmail.

As most webmail sites are SSL, I don't think files can be scanned.

Is there some kind of ISA plugin software that can scan files downloaded
over a SSL connection ?

Or do you guys have some other solution for this problem ?

Met vriendelijke groet,

 Sebastian van Dijk
