Is that SQL server a member of a domain, or is it a standalone server?

What is the user you are using to connect?

Thank you very much for your concern regarding security matters. Yes, we
do have scheduled/job that will run on the certain time. Basically, what
we are doing now is just isolate the problem because the problem lies
mainly on connectivity. We cant run our sql jobs unless the connection is
being established successfully. I cant understand is that we cant still
connect to sql on the external server even if we have setup our ISA to
allow outbound/inbound to port 1433.

Thanks in advance!
