Ok... can you tell me how that no-ip.com works... is there a DNS server
that dynamically changes each time the address is changed? Even in that
case there would be a problem since most Internet DNS servers cache for
a long time (24-48 hrs)

In any case... how's the SMTP Publishing Rule configured? What do you
see in the ISA IP logs?

I'm sneaky and utilizing no-ip.com to publish my ever-changing IP
address.

Still trying to get this stuff to work . . .

How will the external clients know the IP address of the server to
connect to if it changes every time? They would have to configure their
settings each time (after giving you a call ans ask: "what is TODAY'S IP
address for the server?").

In any case you can use BOTH IP Packet Filters or Publishing Rules.
None are limiting in the aspects you mention.

A.-

OK. I've read the help. I still don't understand.

Question #1:
Since I'm connecting the internet using a dial-up w/out a static IP, I
do not have a consistent external IP address. Therefore, I can't use
the server publishing rules and must use IP Filters. Correct?

Question #2:
Please give an example of how to publish an internal server via IP
Filters, given:
ISA Server - 192.168.0.1
SMTP Server/Exchange/Web Server - 192.168.0.2

I've tried and just can't get it to work.

Daniel
