I did that once. Here is a dump of the protocol rule I used, ripped With Jim Harrison`s Isadump script. Server Publishing Rule Name : Kiwi Syslog Enabled : True IP Address of Internal Server : 192.168.6.1 External IP Address on ISA Server : 192.168.7.1 Protocol Used : Kiwi Syslog Primary Port Used by Protocol : 514 Rule Applies to : Specified Client Set Client Set Specified : Myrouter , Protocol Definition Name : Kiwi Syslog Initial Connection Port Number : 514 Initial Protocol Type : UDP Initial Direction : Receive Only That worked for me. I have successfully configured using a syslog server on the DMZ and a packet filter but would prefer to use the Syslog server on my private LAN instead. I created a protocol definition with udp 514 Receive no secondary connection and. Tried creating a Publishing rule with same paramaters and even creating a packet filter. I have observed in the logs that ISA is blocking - protocol UDP <border router ip> 37773 --> <syslog ip> 514 on the ISA external interface. I have tried numerous variations and cannot get this to work. Was wondering if anyone has done this successfully?
