AutoSoldNow is a Dealer 2 Dealer auction site that uses Blackberry Technology. So right now when a Dealer logs into ASN via the web and builds a auction, then pushes it the LiveNet. Once it hits LiveNet emails go out to all the buyers some are on our Blackberry Enterprise Server while others have their own email addresses which our database sends the emails to. If the buyer is interested they hit reply to the email and put a amount in, say 4000, and hit send. The email come back to us via SMTP then is dumped in the IMAP server still sending a copy to our SMTP server where the Java application which drives ASN's auctions picks up the email and rips it apart putting add the buyers bid to the auction. Currently as it stand there is a rule on the Firebox that directs all SMTP from the WAN to the DMZ, then there are two rules that redirect IMAP and SMTP to the Exchange Server. The system layout consists of two Linux boxes on the DMZ, one which runs HTTPD and redirects all port 80 www.autosoldnow.com activity to the LAN Java application server, while the other Linux box runs SpamAssassin and redirects the incoming SMTP to SMTP and IMAP to the Exchange 2003 server after it checks to make sure no messages are spam. I want to eliminate both boxes with ISA, the httpd is easy to do but I am not sure if it's even possible to have ISA take the SMTP incoming and redirect it to SMTP and IMAP to Exchange 2003 Server, is it?? Greg Mulholland 'Security was not considered in the design of this protocol' -----Original Message----- From: isalist-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:isalist-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Andrew English Sent: Tuesday, May 09, 2006 11:48 AM To: isalist@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: [isalist] Possible redirection? http://www.ISAserver.org ------------------------------------------------------- I am combing through this Linux box that runs RedHat Enterprise 4, and SpamAssissan to figure out where it gets it's IMAP info from, the current WatchGuard firewall has only one rule that redirects the IMAP port 163 from the Linux box to Exchange's IMAP. Someone on a RedHat forum suggested that I look and see if Xinetd is running which could mean the SMTP data is also being redirect to IMAP port 163. If this is the case is there anyway to emulate this on ISA 2004? The other rules on the WatchGuard only show all SMTP traffic going from the WAN to the DMZ Linux box, and SMTP traffic from the Linux box to Exchange as well.
